Sep 1, 2012 - Blind Village of Vinh Chau, Soc Trang

Vinh Chau District is home to the greatest population of blind people throughout Soc Trang Province; with thousands who suffer from blindness in either one or both eyes. Vinh Chau District is the largest planting area of purple onions in the whole country. The Khmer Ethic people reside here and suffer from a difficult lifestyle, lacking ways to make a living. In addition, lost of eye sight has made their lives even harder to bare.
